As you step into Honest Chocolate Cafe in Wale street, Cape Town you can expect a rustic yet charming and warm atmosphere, greeted with friendly and welcoming smiles from behind the counter where your chocolate dreams are about to come true.
HONEST CHOCOLATE ALLOWS YOU TO DREAM
I first visited Honest Chocolate in 2016 and since then I have continued to fall in love with their delectable treats. I still remember walking through their charming coffee shop to find an escape from the city in a hidden courtyard that allows you to feel you’re in a far away land. Honest Chocolate allows you to dream. To dream with them as you get caught up in your own world, and of course a chocolate heaven when you bite into their beautifully handmade treats.
WHO IS HONEST CHOCOLATE?
Honest Chocolate is popular here in Cape Town for their artisan chocolates produced locally and made with local ingredients. Dark chocolate such as toasted coconut, cracked coffee bean, cocoa nibs, miso and tamari roasted sunflower seeds, buchu and dried pineapple, dried naartjie, and organic coconut blossom sugar. Keep your eyes peered as Honest Chocolate releases new chocolate slabs every so often to keep the excitement on edge.
SOME OF MY FAVORITE THINGS..
A few of my favorite treats from the cafe include Honest Chocolate chocolate and macadamia nut brownie (rated the best by Somebody Feed Phil on Netflix), banana bread bunny chow (banana bread filled with homemade ice cream and homemade dark chocolate spread), and dark chocolate ganache cake. Apart from their home baked treats at the cafe, you can expect a selection of handmade chocolate truffles in all different flavors, brownie mixes to make your own Honest Chocolate brownies from home, as well as the most delicious chocolate spread that my tongue has ever touched.
Whether you’re a local like myself or a tourist, Honest Chocolate needs to make it onto your list of what to do and where to go in Cape Town.
