Oranjezicht City Farmers Market is a place for the whole family! Founded in 2014 as an NGO and thereafter bought in 2017 by an entrepreneur and thereafter has gained popularity and continues to grow as new local businesses join the OZCF Market! From food stalls offering cuisines from all around the world, as well as vegan, vegetarian, and dairy free. Oranjezicht City Farmers Market also introduces locals and tourists to vendors who sell plants and flowers, locally produced vegetation, homemade soaps and body butters, handmade baskets from local materials, organic honey, handmade clothing, dog accessories, jewelry, etc.

Upon my last market day I loved speaking with the different small business owners, hearing their inspiration for their startups, as well as how they got to where they currently are – it was extremely inspiring as a creative and small business owner myself. Every visit becomes an adventure to see what new vendors and gems there are to discover, as well as an occasion to dress up and admire some trendy new fashion, bump into a few Cape Town celebs, and most importantly support local!
DAIRY FREE ICE CREAM – DITTO THAT
While walking around I stumbled upon Ditto, a newly found dairy free ice cream stall! Ditto uses oat milk in their ice cream as a dairy replacement, well let me tell you how incredibly creamy and flavorsome their ice cream was! I chose 2 scoops in a bowl: Cinnamon and Oreo topped with Lotus biscuit (they offer a free topping!) and oh my my gosh I cannot rave enough how much Ditto has found a space in my heart!

Before leaving the OZCF Market the owner of The Date Foodie found me and strung up a conversation. The Date Foodie not only let me taste test their products, but also shared with me how his business came to be. I happen to be a fan of dates and this encounter was meant to be. The Date Foodie offers all things dates! From date syrup, to dates covered in yogurt (yum), Jerusalem toffees (great as a topping for oats), date caramel toffees, date balls, banana bread with dates, date spread, and more!
